The Teamsters
Teamsters
Local 597 was first chartered by the International
Brotherhood of Teamsters in 1939. Since that time, Local
597 has grown and currently represents over 900 members
working for more than 21 companies throughout Vermont.
Local 597 has 2 full-time Business Agents to protect the
rights of our membership in the workplace. This is the
68th Anniversary of Teamsters Local 597 fighting for the
rights of working people
Since the founding of Teamsters Local 597, it has saved countless members jobs.
Even with the economy in a struggling position we are fighting
back and getting raises for our members, better
healthcare, and improved retirement plans. We are
consistently improving management skills to make the work
place a happy environment.
