Messier
Duane Messier is currently the President and Business
Agent for the Teamsters Local 597. Mr. Messier was
elected
January 1, 1997 as Recording Secretary and Business
Agent. January 2007 Duane Messier was appointed
President of the Teamsters 597. Mr. Messier had
previously been a union member and had worked as a truck
driver for St. Johnsbury Trucking and Consolidated
Freightways for eighteen years before elected as a
business agent. Duane's years of working in the
trucking industry has allowed him to build a strong
advocacy for the working members of Local 597.
Duane Messier desire's to advocate for each employee
orginate's from recognizing the problems employees can run into.
His years of working as a member, Mr. Messier has experienced a
lot of the same issues that he is currently fighting to improve
for his members. .
